During this Thursday, the Head of Government of the Capital District, Nahúm Fernández together with the Comprehensive Defense Directorate Body of the Libertador Municipality (ODDI)were deployed in the El Encanto sector of the La Vega parish to guarantee attention to the people affected by the heavy rains.
The heavy rains that fell this Thursday evening caused the collapse of 13 homes in the Los Encantos and Las Redomitas sectors of the La Vega parish in Caracas.
As reported by the head of government of Caracas, Nahum Fernández, two of the houses were reported as total loss, while assuring that there were no victims to mourn.
“We have toured the high-risk areas in Caracas, in order to offer immediate solutions for the protection and well-being of the people in the face of the passage of Tropical Wave No. 47,” Fernández said through his Twitter account.

Fernández also inspected the Guerreros de Tamanaco sector, Macarao parish, where 10 houses slid due to rainfall.
The official added that the Decent Shelters Plan was activated in attention to the affected families. “Our work fronts are in constant mobilization to protect the people. It is important to point out that cleaning and maintenance of streams is being carried out in the Caracas parishes, in order to mitigate the risks.”
He also stressed that the shelters have a multidisciplinary team that guarantees all social care policies.
According to the forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh), Heavy rainfall will continue in the next few hours as part of Tropical Wave No. 47.
