Carabineros fired three officials for bribery in Pudahuel: court decreed precautionary of national roots

Three members of the Carabineros were discharged after being denounced for bribery after a traffic inspection in the commune of Pudahuel, Metropolitan Region.

According 24 hours, the troops correspond to a first corporal and two policemen, who asked a motorcyclist “how to solve the problem”, after he did not present his documents in order. The aforementioned then told them that he had a part of his salary, corresponding to the sum of 135 thousand pesos, which one of the uniformed officers stole.

The condominium security cameras captured the incident, where it is seen how one of the agents took the man’s wallet and returned it to him without money.

After this, the affected person went to the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Investigative Police (PDI), where detectives from the institution corroborated the presence of the patrol captured by the recording and approached the 26th police station. One of the aforementioned policemen confessed to the fact, and the three officers were arrested.

On Wednesday morning, the three former officials went to detention control in the First Guarantee Court of Santiago, after being formalized for the crime of bribery. Meanwhile, “the precautionary measure of total house arrest was not accepted by the court, decreeing national roots and a biweekly signature for the three accused,” said the Pudahuel prosecutor, Maria Theresa Herrera.

The Public Ministry determined that the PDI will be in charge of carrying out the investigation to gather more information.
