A controversial and criticized event occurred recently on the Antofagasta highway. And it is that service policemen were recorded to make a TikTok while driving their institutional motorcycles.
The video that was titled “love for two wheels” and that was widely disseminated on social networks, shows how one of the uniformed officers searches with one hand, to later focus on two other policemen aboard their motorcycles.
It should be noted that the video has been strongly criticized, because they themselves supervise compliance with the No Chat Law, which prohibits manipulating any electronic device while driving a vehicle, or while stopped at a red light or stop sign.
In this regard, General Gonzalo Castro, chief of the Antofagasta Carabineros zone, indicated that “the Traffic Law establishes that this is not allowed, so we have already initiated the corresponding administrative processes to correct this conduct.”
It is important to mention that the faces of the officials cannot be seen in the video because they had a headscarf and helmet. In addition, the policeman identified on TikTok as @josseph89 later deleted the recording.
