The Cicpc captured Luis Manuel Peña Arguinzonez (43) as allegedly responsible for the murder of Jesús Alberto Malavé Luna (48), whose body was found last Saturday in Los Bajo de la Pica, Maturín, Monagas state.
In this regard, the Cicpc reported that Luis Manuel and Jesús Alberto were partners in the purchase and sale of vegetables. But on April 28, the two had an altercation over earnings.
The discussion began in the vehicle where they used to transport the vegetables and ended when the two got out to fall to blows. Luis Manuel subdued Jesús Alberto and applied a key to his neck until he was suffocated and left to die.
The murderer raised the body to the co-pilot’s seat and took it to Los Bajo de La Pica, a wooded area of the Monaguense capital, where he dug a grave and threw it. He then hid the vehicle which was recovered by Cicpc officials.
Agents also located the pickaxe used to open the tomb. The detainee was handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office.
