Capriles to a year of 28jul: hope is still present in most Venezuelans

Capriles: Maduro spends on propaganda while retirees and pensioners face hunger

The former governor of Miranda and a deputy elected to the National Assembly Henrique Capriles urged the opposition to join to achieve a change in the country. He condemned that there are still persecuted and imprisoned after the presidential ones of 2024 and said he will continue to fight to be released

The former governor of Miranda and a deputy elected to the National Assembly Henrique Capriles recalled the presidential elections that took place on July 28 of last year and said that “hope is still present in the vast majority of Venezuelans, inside and outside our country”, who at that time went out to vote for Edmundo González.

He also insisted on denouncing that after those elections the economic crisis continues to affect most Venezuelans, the poorest and most unprotected sectors, and highlighted the fact that the pension and the minimum wage is Bs 130, just just over one dollar. «LThe Venezuelans are still punished because of those who have been in power years generating economic, social and political chaos, ”he wrote in a Post of X.

Henrique Capriles considered that on July 28, 2024, it cannot be erased from the history of the country and insisted that the united opposition is able to organize citizens to achieve a change.

In that same sense, the former governor remembered those who were imprisoned to go out to claim the National Electoral Council to publish the broken results of the elections, which have not been done until date, and all who were and remain persecuted and said that for them the fight will continue “so that the doors of the prisons that today stole their freedom are opened.”

“Abuses, persecutions and human rights violations to inject fear in citizens, caused many Venezuelans to move away from politics and stop seeing it as an option to get out of the crisis,” he added.

For Capriles, the absence of proposals and the political route by the opposition have achieved the same result and affirmed “that they will not produce anything to prosecute the struggle to recover democracy and freedom”, before which the opponents interrogate: “Is the opposition and democratic alternative better today? Do Venezuelans believe that we are close to achieving a change in power? They see a better future?

For the newly elected deputy to the National Assembly, the current situation is a call “to continue fighting to enforce the rights we have as Venezuelans and the change that is alive in the heart that is inside and outside the country.”

*Journalism in Venezuela is exercised in a hostile environment for the press with dozens of legal instruments arranged for the punishment of the word, especially the laws “against hatred”, “against fascism” and “against blockade.” This content was written taking into consideration the threats and limits that, consequently, have been imposed on the dissemination of information from within the country.
