The former governor Henrique Capriles He called to continue the fight to defend the results of the presidential elections of July 28.

The opponent referred to the four months that have passed since the elections in which the CNE attributed the victory to Nicolás Maduro, but has not published the disaggregated results.

«July 28 is in history as a day dedicated to Venezuela; Every witness, polling station member, every voter gave their best. Today, we must reiterate that those who refuse to respect the decision of the Venezuelan people imprisoned 1,926 Venezuelans who were innocent, for thinking differently, for defending the vote. We demand that there be freedom for all political prisoners. We will also continue to demand that the truth of the presidential election must prevail; “We all know it and no one will erase it from our memories,” Capriles emphasized in his X network account.

Likewise, the former governor said that the country is united by the feeling of change and the recovery of democracy and respect for popular sovereignty.

Capriles maintained that this includes “both those who seek more and better opportunities abroad, as well as those of us who are still here. The hope of transforming our homeland remains intact!

That day, full of hope and democratic conviction, we went out to exercise our right enshrined in the Constitution and we continue to demand that it be respected because popular sovereignty resides in the people and it is the people who, through suffrage, elect their representatives.
