Capriles denounces "hate campaign" against him: "I have the right to say what I think"

The politician said that he will send a letter to the governments of Mexico, Colombia and Brazil requesting their mediation in the Venezuelan crisis and will remind them of the presidential elections of July 28, 2024 because “it seems that the electoral records were left aside”

Henrique Capriles Radonski denounced an hatred campaign against him and defended his right to say what he thinks. “I have become the sack where everyone hits their frustration,” he said Monday, September 1, during a live broadcast from his Instagram account.

The former governor of Miranda and a deputy elected to the National Assembly questioned that “telling the truth” has become an act of betrayal. In his opinion, the debate of ideas is over and it seems, he said, “that it is about” changing an authoritarianism for another, “he said without directly mentioning.

During the Instagram Live, the politician said that “sadly” you cannot speak of a united opposition and asked to assume responsibilities.

«We are in a fight, in an end to end confrontation. So we stayed with crossed ones? Do we put candles for someone outside to come …? ”He said.

In his opinion, it is necessary to get out of the “existential” situation and end the status quo of the politicians living in the Venezuelan conflict. In this regard, he wondered what politicians who are outside Venezuela live. «When have you seen them yield? Someday you will know how they are financed ».

Capriles insisted on a “face to face” negotiation between the president of the United States, Donald Trump, and Nicolás Maduro so that the “country has a solution and a change without violence” that does not imply costs and greater sacrifices for Venezuelans.

«Always a bad peace agreement will be better than a war. The solution is to negotiate, is to seek an agreement. Here what interests people is that there is a solution, not who is the interlocutor ».

Regarding interlocutors and efforts, the politician said that he will send “as a simple mortal” a letter to the governments of Mexico, Colombia and Brazil requesting their mediation in the Venezuelan crisis and will remind them of the presidential elections of July 28, 2024 because “it seems that the electoral acts were left aside.”

Capriles has been in the eye of criticism by opposition sectors due to its position before the regional and municipal elections convened by the Maduro Administration, without the fulfillment of guarantees and electoral conditions.

In the opposite direction to the decision of First Justice – his party, until then – and the unitary platform, as the majority coalition of the opposition, Capriles decided to participate and set up a separate store with the Union and Change party, unknown at that time. The former governor was raised by the political disqualification that weighed against him – the same one that he argued for his retirement of the primary elections of the opposition in 2023 – and was able to apply for his name for the National Assembly.

This week, the leader offered two interviews to BBC News World and the US chain CNNin which he set a position on the military deployment of the United States in the waters of the Caribbean Sea and, among other points, he asked the USAs of the existence of the so -called Los Soles poster “to know who they are and where it operates.”

Their statements generated various reactions among social media users, who mostly questioned the position assumed by the politician.

*Journalism in Venezuela is exercised in a hostile environment for the press with dozens of legal instruments arranged for the punishment of the word, especially the laws “against hatred”, “against fascism” and “against blockade.” This content was written taking into consideration the threats and limits that, consequently, have been imposed on the dissemination of information from within the country.
