Elements of the Mexican Navy-Secretary of the Navy (Semar) and personnel of the Oaxaca State Prosecutor’s Office arrested the regional leader of Los Cromos, a criminal cell linked to the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel (CJNG), in the municipality of Ixhuatán.
Federal sources reported that Alexis A, El Macannu, is “signed for his alleged participation in arms distribution activities and his relationship with various high-impact events in the region.” He was identified as a plaza boss, a weapons distributor and as being related to kidnappings and homicides, including the murder of a state police officer in 2024.
During the operation, the authorities seized weapons for exclusive use by the armed forces and doses of drugs.
