The Governor of Chaco Jorge Capitanich will participate as a speaker in the presentation of a book on the thought of Pope Francis in the framework of an open talk scheduled for this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the Provincial Government House, in Resistencia, where the start of distribution throughout the country of 10,000 copies will also be announced in periodic format of the encyclical “Fratelli Tutti”.
That document, published in 2020 and whose title in Spanish means “All Brothers”, is considered “the most representative text” of the pontiff’s postulates for containing “his theological and political proposals for this moment in history”, according to those who claim it. They have studied.
Capitanich, who knew how to write about “Fratelli Tutti” and published articles on the subject, will be the closing speaker at a conference in which the book “Restart. Francis, the pandemic and the homeland” will be presented.edited by the New Earth Center, an entity that collaborates with training both in social organizations and in the Catholic Church committed to the popular world and that four years ago launched the website www.factorfrancisco.org: its creators imagined it as a “Cultural and political reflection on Francisco’s thought for current and future Argentina”, as they confided to Télam.
Néstor Borri and Santiago Barassi, co-authors of the book, will speak about the work and then give details about the project to distribute 10,000 copies of the Pope’s encyclical throughout the country, whose reading they consider “fundamental for the stage” that Argentina is going through, for which they will have the collaboration of “cultural, political, social and religious organizations,” they advanced.
As for the implications of “Fratelli Tutti”, Capitanich referred to that document as a work that transcends “the inspiration for the 1.2 billion Catholics in the world.” since at the same time -he said- “it radiates a worldview of the snares and challenges of our planet”, and in parallel proposes “a model that stimulates human promotion without propitiating the exploitation of man by the State”.
For the president of Chaco, the encyclical represents the Pope’s “legacy” “as a political leader and statesman of a global dimension” and simultaneously “inspires values as a spiritual and religious leader in a tumultuous and fateful time of the pandemic,” he wrote in a column of opinion published in June of last year and that they recovered from the Chaco government for this Thursday’s activity.
Borri and Barassi, in the portal’s presentation, wrote that “Francisco’s proposals demand a response that lives up to his audacity”, so they decided to build “a system of words and images that would jump the gate of commonplaces of what is said about the Argentine Pope”, a necessary objective “in a disenchanted world, in which any discourse is co-opted by hegemonic logic”, they warned.
In a dialogue with Télam, Borri – director of Nueva Tierra, communicator and educator – said that one of the objectives of the conference will be “reflect collectively on Francis, mysticism and politics”with the horizon set on the organization of a national campaign to divulge the Pope’s thought, which they will baptize “with the Homeland on their shoulders”.
