When there are 19 days left until the end of the year, the Government is falling short in the execution of the capital expendituredespite the fact that in mid-August he presented a draft modification to the General State Budget for 2025, which included, among other things, an increase in that item of just over 35,548 million pesos.
However, in the past December 12the most recent statistical cut, the Government had to execute 42,944.2 million of pesos in the capital expenditurebecause of the 216,275 million budgeted for that purpose, it had only spent 173,330.8 million pesos, equivalent to 80.1%.
The official numbers reflect that the Government must execute each day, on average, 2,260.2 million pesos in the investment item to earn the available amount, a figure that would seem difficult to achievesince the amount spent between January and November It amounted to 518.9 million pesos per day.

The data is contained in the weekly budget execution report, corresponding to the period January 1 to December 12, prepared by the General Budget Directorate (Digepres), which shows that the execution of current expenses is proceeding at a faster pace than that of capital, with 92.2% of the amount accrued.
With the project of budget modificationsubmitted in August to the National Congress by the Executive Branch, the Government I was looking to apply a countercyclical fiscal policy to protect the dynamism of the economy through an increase in the capital expenditureprioritizing the public investment.
The additional resources requested would be allocated mainly to investment projects carried out by the Ministries of Public Works and Communications and Housing, the Office for the Reorganization of Transportation, the National Water Institute Drinking and Sewerage, the National Health Service, among other institutions and the local governments.
Constructions in processes
With two and a half weeks left until the end of 2025, the Government had spent 61,215.8 million of pesos for the constructions in processesof the 75,469.4 million available for these purposes, leaving 14,253.6 million pesos pending execution.
Meanwhile, for the capital transfers he budget was increased to 76,652.1 million of pesos, of which had been accrued until the December 12 68,781.9 million, leaving 7,870.2 million pesos pending execution, according to the records of the Digepres.
For fixed assetsthe authorities allocated in the aforementioned period 40,892 million of pesos of the 60,492.5 million pesos budgeted for that purpose, resulting in 19,600.5 million pending execution.
Spending in November
Only in November, the Dominican government executed 18,885.4 million pesos in capital expenditureof which fixed assets reached 7,436.3 million, capital transfers 5,974.5 million and constructions in process 5,225.7 million pesos.
Of spending on fixed assetsthe majority was allocated to homes, buildings and structures, with 5,558.3 million pesos; machinery and equipment, for 1,679.6 million; defense and security equipment, for 130.5 million, among others.
In addition, allocations of 230.7 million were granted tounproduced assets and 18.3 million pesos for valuable objects, as established in the monthly budget execution report prepared by the Digepres.
