The Cape Verde team qualified for the men’s football World Cup for the first time in history. The place was guaranteed this Monday (13), when the Blue Tubarões beat the Essuatini team by a score of 3-0 at the Cabo Verde National Stadium, in Praia.

With this triumph, which was built on goals from Dailon Livramento, Willy Semedo and Stopira, the Cape Verdean team closed the African Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup (which will be played in the United States, Mexico and Canada) as leader of the D with a total of 23 points.
In this campaign, the Blue Sharks even left behind the experienced Cameroon team (which was in second place in Group D of the African Qualifiers with 19 points), the African team with the highest number of participations in men’s World Cups.
