After the director of the Social Security Fund (CSS), Enrique Lau Cortés, refused to provide information on the work requests and recommendations made by some deputies, the president of the Panamanian Chamber of Construction (CAPAC), Carlos Allen stated that it is information that impacts the resources of the Panamanian State, so it should be known to the general public.
Allen considered that “in such a sensitive matter for Panamanian society, there are no positions that deviate from transparency, which demands the management of public affairs and therefore limits information on a topic of justified interest to the population; above all because it concerns the main social security institution in the country”.
According to the president of CAPAC, regarding the position of the representatives of the business sector in the Board of Directors of the CSS, he indicated that it is a strictly administrative aspect and whose competence corresponds to the General Director of the Institution, who is they formulated the consultations on requests and recommendations of the deputies for appointments in that institution ».
