Diego Jaar, the youngest of the pack, calls together three friends whom he respects, loves and admires, to share songs.
Bulging eyes, an Arab sheikh’s appearance and a gnome’s hat. That’s Diego Jaar, from “Malafrecura.” Owner of a surname of which the Dominican Republic is the second country with the most people who bear it. The first is South Africa with 609.
Diego Jaar is the ideologist and producer of “Canten”, which is the title of the show that this Saturday at 8:30 pm will bring together on stage Pavel Núñez, Daniel Santacruz and Sergio Echenique, who now calls himself Seye, in addition to Diego himself.
The concert will take place in the Manuel Rueda Hall of the National Conservatory, in Plaza Iberoamérica.
The four singer-songwriters will be accompanied by a musical band put together by Diego Jaar.
“We want to create a dynamic atmosphere and for people to be integrated into the camaraderie of singer-songwriters. For that, we have a band that has learned all of our songs, which has been a challenge,” he explained.
Songs such as Tú me queda bien; Agridulce; La yola, by Jaar himself, can be heard that night. Also viene gente; Dime si lo ves or Agonizando, by Pavel.
Daniel Santacruz, winner of the Latin Grammy for best bachata album of 2020, will surely share his songs such as Adonde va el amor; Deja Vu or Larimar.
While Sergio Echenique would deliver Selfish, Frenzy or I Want to Meet You.
It is a reason to sing our own songs together, in an atmosphere of collaboration, friendship and complicity. Not to be missed, a concert based on good taste, lyrics for intelligent people, and enriching melodies.
