Canoe slalom: Ana Sátila finishes C1 final in fifth place

Minas Gerais native Ana Sátila ended her participation in the C1 (canoe) canoe slalom competition at the Paris Olympic Games (France) this Wednesday (31) in fifth place, five positions ahead of the previous Brazilian record in the event, which belonged to her and which was achieved at the Tokyo Games (2020).Canoe slalom: Ana Sátila finishes C1 final in fifth place

“I’m not happy. I was feeling really good, really prepared. I had a huge team by my side, fighting day and night to make sure I was here in the best shape I could be, and I was. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the medal. I’m still coming to terms with everything that happened, but I’m proud that I gave it my all in this competition. Of course it wasn’t what I wanted, but I have to analyze what happened, rest and prepare for the last category I have.”

In the first of three canoe slalom events in which she was registered, Ana Sátila secured fourth place in K1 (kayak) last Sunday (28). However, the Brazilian still has one more opportunity to win the Olympic medal she has dreamed of at the Paris Games, as next Friday (2) the extreme kayak competition begins, the most radical modality in the canoeing program at the Olympic Games.
