Inep warns that some candidates are confused and think that the approval of the justification for absence in Enem 2022 or the request for exemption from payment of the registration fee in Enem 2023 would automatically result in the candidate’s enrollment. However, it is a misunderstanding.
Approval by Inep does not guarantee enrollment in this year’s exam. Effective participation in Enem 2023 will only be guaranteed upon registration.
And either
Created in 1998, Enem evaluates the school performance of students at the end of basic education, in high school.
The exam is the main gateway to higher education in Brazil, through the Unified Selection System (Sisu), the University for All Program (Prouni) and the Student Financing Fund (FIES), which considers the individual grades obtained by enrolled in the Enem for use in the selection processes.
This year, Inep made available two versions of the Enem 2023 registration fee exemption announcement and the justification for absence from Enem 2022, aimed at participants with disabilities. The first, in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), and the second, with adaptations for people with visual impairments.
