The resolution of Mayor Yamandú Orsi indicates that it is necessary to “reorder and monitor the administrative functioning in the municipality”, designating Silvia Camejo, from the General Directorate of Economic Development, as intervenor “for having the profile, knowledge, trajectory and theoretical capacity to accompany the task of the municipality.
Speaking to the press, Orsi said that the intervention “is a step we take so that everything runs smoothly,” clarifying that the mayor remains in office because “he is an actor elected by the citizens and as long as there is no verdict or something that explain making other types of decisions, which we cannot make ourselves, in principle it continues to work”.
The Canarian mayor explained that the intervention is to “provide a framework for administrative support, because the situation is not normal, there are officials who are going to make statements and try to shed light on what has happened.”
