SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- A blackout prevented the signal from Havana Channel was to air on Monday afternoon and some of its usual programmes were to be broadcast.

“We inform you that due to the power outage, the Canal Habana signal has been affected, which is why some of our usual programs were not broadcast,” the local channel wrote on its Facebook page.

Following an apology and announcing that it was a “news under construction”, the site concluded the information that did not provide any further information. details.

An hour after broadcasting the incident, Canal Habana hinted in the comments to the publication that the live signal had already been reestablished.

Not even Canal Habana, another official Cuban media outlet that transmits a favorable image of the country’s situation, escapes the blackouts.

The channel is constantly monitored by the regime. The communication policy of “Habana Noticiario” is dictated by officials of the Ideological Department (DI) of the provincial PCC.

In addition, they carry and accompany many coverages, make “recommendations” to journalists on how to approach the topic, and sometimes function as a kind of news producers (they look for interviewees), and review the work before going on air.

CubaNet journalist Camila Acosta, who worked for the channel during her years of social service, confirmed that they review the content that is broadcast daily and the next day they praise or recommend topics based on the previous program.

Power outages in Cuba have not spared even the most loyal members of the regime.

The Cuban singer Annie Garcesone of the performers of the song “Patria o Muerte por la Vida”, suffered a blackout during the recording of a program at the Canal Caribe studios.

In the program In Real TimeWhen Garcés intervened to talk about a song he had composed with the director of the publishing house Abril for the anniversary of the institution, the recording set went dark, disconcerting the singer.

“Are we there?” the young woman asked when she saw that the lights had gone out. The event lasted a few minutes and the lights came back on gradually, because although the studio was illuminated a little, it was not fully illuminated until three minutes later.
