With the arrival of the Boeing 737-400 at Frank País International Airport, the Canadian airline Off We Go (OWG) began commercial operations this Thursday with the eastern province of Holguín, thus resuming its connections with Cuba.
With this flight, on board which 150 passengers arrived, air operations are established with two daily frequencies from Montreal and Toronto, from Thursday to Sunday, to the destinations of Holguín, Villa Clara, Varadero and Cayo Coco, according to the Cuban News Agency (ACN).
The Hola Sun and Caribe Sol agencies are in charge of marketing the offers from Canada, through the Cuban tour operator Havanatur.
Of the 150 arriving passengers, around 85 percent go to the hotel facilities in the Guardalavaca resort, according to Elizabeth García Oro, director of the Havanatur T&T Oriente Norte branch.
Through the incorporation of this airline, García Oro stressed, the entry of 360 clients a week to the capital of Holguin is expected, which will allow oxygenating tourism in the territory, limited as in the rest of the country for two years due to the COVID-19.
The “Frank Country” receives about 23 foreign aircraft every week. To these two new flights from Canada, according to a report by the newspaper Now! those corresponding to that market rise to eight, joined by Italy, Germany, the Bahamas and Cancun and the nine charters from Miami.
