Within the framework of the first meeting held for the first time by the 24 ministers of the next cabinet of the President-elect, Gabriel Boric, the future Minister for the Government, Camila Vallejo, confirmed to the undersecretaries of the main portfolios that they will arrive at La Moneda Palace on next March 11.
Once the meeting was over, Vallejo anticipated the work that the ministers and undersecretaries will have together to face the next challenges of the country.
“We have highlighted the importance of the role that each minister is going to play, understanding it as a complement to a team that is larger. Also understanding the historical perspective that we are living. The challenge that lies ahead is to be able to push through many of the transformations that our compatriots have been demanding for decades,” he asserted.
“We know that this requires a lot of effort, a lot of work. We know that we are probably going to have obstacles and difficulties, but that is why we also put a strong focus on staying together and together, cohesive, ”she continued.

Along the same lines, the future spokeswoman anticipated the appointment of four undersecretaries of the most relevant portfolios of the Government.
Manuel Monsalve (PS), who was appointed Undersecretary of the Interior, is a member of the Socialist Party and deputy for the 21st district. He worked as a doctor, where he was director and head of the Municipal Health Department of the Los Álamos district.
In Congress, he presided over the Education, Health and Treasury commissions. In addition to the Special Commission on Inequality and Poverty. He will lead the Ministry of the Interior together with the future minister of the portfolio, Izkia Siches.
In the Treasury, the economist Claudia Sanhueza (RD) will take over. A commercial engineer from the University of Chile and a member of the Democratic Revolution, she was part of the economic team of the campaign of the President-elect, Gabriel Boric, and contributed to the preparation of his government program. On March 11, she will team up with the next Finance Minister, Mario Marcel (IND).
On the other hand, the deputy Miguel Crispi (RD) will arrive at the Undersecretary of Social Development. The sociologist was a member of the Socialist Party until 2012, where he later became part of the foundation of the Democratic Revolution. He was part of the educational reform team of the Ministry of Education between 2014 and 2016, during the second term of then President Michelle Bachelet. He will work in conjunction with Jeanette Vega (IND), who will be the Minister of Social Development and Family.
One of the most surprising announcements was that of the sociologist and political scientist Lucía Dammert, who will become the chief adviser of the so-called “Second Floor.” The former Interior adviser during the second government of Michelle Bachelet, she will have a strategic link with Gabriel Boric’s chief of staff, the lawyer Matías Meza-Lopehandía.
Dammert joined the President-elect’s command during the 2021 presidential campaign, where he played a key role as a security specialist in the second round. He will carry out the work carried out by President Piñera’s adviser, the economist Cristián Larroulet, on the second floor of the Palacio de La Moneda.
