As of today (2), 30 products linked to the aeronautical sector will enter the country without paying Import Tax. The Executive Management Committee of the Chamber of Foreign Trade (Camex) has zeroed tariffs on imports for use in activities related to the sector.
Among the products benefited are printers, cutting machines, gliders, airships and telephone sets, provided they are used by the aeronautical sector.
In a note, the Ministry of Economy informed that the measure aligns the Brazilian rates to the Aircraft Trade Agreement of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The reduction of rates to zero was proposed by the economic team itself.
Camex also updated the standard for importing aeronautical products, establishing the requirements for interested companies to be able to buy products abroad without paying Import Tax.
