The prosecutor investigating the crime of Eliana Pachecothe 24-year-old girl who was intensely wanted since last Sunday and who was found murdered this Friday in a ditch on the outskirts of the Buenos Aires city of La Plata, was awaiting the survey of the security cameras and the expertise of the linked telephones to the cause, among other measures aimed at clarifying the homicide and identifying the perpetrators.
This is the head of the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 7 of the Judicial Department of La Plata, Virginia Bravo, who in dialogue with Télam assured that they reinforced “field tasks” and that “at the moment there are no detainees.”
Regarding the latter, he indicated that it will be “a measure that will arise based on the progress of the investigation.”
“We are working to exhaust all the elements collected so far, analyzing security cameras and collecting information from the phones linked to the investigation,” said prosecutor Bravo.
Precisely about the cameras, the judicial official pointed out that they seek to find equipment oriented to security or surveillance in the area where the young woman was located and her possible route to the place where she was found.
Regarding the investigation of the telephones linked to Eliana, The call received by the family is included, where a woman who identified herself as Yamila affirmed that the 24-year-old girl was “alive” and that they did not look for her because they were “in a caravan”.
Finally, he said that they will deepen the search for more evidence that “links the victim in the identified areas.”
The crime and discovery of the body
The Eliana’s body, mother of two children, was found this Friday around 10 a.m. in the grasslands of a ditch in the vicinity of the intersection of streets 38 and 203 on the outskirts of La Platain an area that members of the Buenos Aires Police with the collaboration of trained dogs had raked on Thursday and where they had found his identity document.
The spokesmen detailed that the body was dressed in blue jean pants, a black T-shirt and fuchsia sneakers, lying on its left side and in an advanced state of decomposition.
Learning of the appearance of a body, the Eliana’s parents and cousins went there in order to recognize her, which was prevented by the police and they were restrained by a Victim Assistance psychologist, given the state of shock they presented.
The autopsy required several hours of work by forensic doctors and ended this Friday night when it was revealed that the young woman was killed by mechanical asphyxiation.
Police sources assured that there is a man who was already identified as one of the last people to see Eliana alive and that it was filmed while he was having a conversation with her at the door of a shed where a fair was held last Sunday, after 6:00 p.m., at the intersection of 208 and 52 streets, in the town of Olmos in La Plata.
This man is a Bolivian national who lives two blocks from the place where the body was found and the investigators were analyzing the possibility of requesting a search of his home.
According to the investigators, Pacheco was currently in a relationship with a man named Maximiliano Videla, who is imprisoned in Olmos Penitentiary Unit 26, after being arrested for a robbery with weapons but inside the prison he was implicated in the homicide of another inmate during a fight.
For this reason, the investigators do not rule out the hypothesis of revenge against Videla by the relatives of that prisoner who died in the Olmos prison.
The woman was intensely sought after last Sunday, when she left her house at 6:00 p.m. and boarded a bus to go to the fair on 208 and 52, in Olmos.
An hour later, he no longer responded to WhatsApp messages and his cell phone was turned off.
