The Cambio Radical party bench got ahead of the Government and presented its project for Statutory Reform to health to the secretariat of the Senate of the Republic, with which they seek to strengthen and protect the health system in Colombia.

According to what was explained by the party, the intention of this proposal is to improve, strengthen and protect the system created 30 years ago and to confront “the destruction of the same proposed by the Government of President Gustavo Petro”.
Among the main points that will be addressed within this reform, 22 key articles were established, which are framed in the integrated and differentiated care modelas well as in health governance and comprehensive risk management.

“This Statutory Reform project arises from the need and urgency to offer Colombians a better health service, which recognizes and preserves the achievements of the current system created by Law 100 of 1993, such as: universal coverage, insurance, financial protection of households, greater access to services, among others.“, they point out.
For his part, the senator of Cambio Radical, Carlos Fernando Motoa, explained that for the Party it is a priority to continue working to save the health of Colombian men and women and present proposals that open the debate towards other possibilitiesto counterbalance the reform that the National Government will promote in this new legislature.

“We have just filed the health reform project, which seeks to maintain the benefits of the current system in terms of coverage and the guarantee of the fundamental right to health. And of course, also to correct the problems that currently concern Colombians, such as access to health services in remote areas of the national geography.” he claimed.
