The census strike in Santa Cruz ended after 36 days. Governor Luis Fernando Camacho noted as an achievement the census law that ensures the delivery of results by 2024 and their timely application. From the other side, Evo Morales reproaches that his legislators have “agreed” with the right.
“The approval of the Census Law by 2/3 in Deputies, is a sign that the struggle of Santa Cruz, for a right of all Bolivians, was heard. In these 36 days, our strike managed to ensure the completion of the census, as the right of all Bolivians, and the delivery of the results and their timely application,” Camacho wrote on his social networks.
The authority assumed a new commitment and assured that the fight for the freedom of political prisoners will continue. “We will never leave anyone behind!”said. Likewise, he took the opportunity to thank the people who took the roundabouts for 36 days to defend their rights.
From Chapare, former President Evo Morales reproached his parliamentarians for having promoted a census law that guarantees distribution of resources and seats. He called them “traitors” and affirmed that the census law seals the pact of “impunity” in favor of the “coup plotters”.
“We denounce that deputies who in the campaign promised the people justice for the victims of the de facto government, they crossed rivers of blood, they allied themselves with the benches of Mesa and Camacho and they approved a law at the request of those coup plotters. That is not renewal, that is called treason,” Morales wrote on his Twitter account.
The ‘renovators’ argued that the approval of the norm is the way of the pacification of the country And, for their part, they pointed out as ‘enemies’ not only Camacho but Juan Ramón Quintana and other masistas as promoters of the destabilization of the Government of Luis Arce.
The census law was approved today at 04:00 in the Chamber of Deputies. The project passes into the hands of the Senate, which must evaluate its approval.
