This Friday, it was learned that Rómulo Calvo, president of the Civic Committee, received threats, supposedly from people related to the MAS. “We have received threats from these MAS militiamen who want to come and take away the tranquility that exists in the house of Dr. Calvo”, said Stello Cochamanidis, second vice president of the Civic Committee.
A group of civic and friends of Calvo they moved to his home to accompany him and hold vigil.
The civic president is serving house arrest, 24 hours a day, by judicial decision.
Cochamanidis was consulted about the statements of the Minister of Government, who blamed the governor of Santa Cruz for the violence this Friday.
“They (state ministers) said it openly and publicly, that there would be a lot of violence. They are responsible. Do you have the videos of the policemen, who have wanted to mount, planting evidence to innocent people, who was in the streets. You yourselves have witnessed that the Police protect the MAS militias, ”he said.
“We denounce that the violence generated has been unique and exclusive responsibility of the national governmentahe and led by state officials, as evidenced in the media and social networks”, indicates the Committee for Santa Cruz in a statement released on its Facebook page.

In addition, remember that the indefinite civic strike is being carried out peacefully, in demand of the census in 2023.
“We call on the people of Santa Cruz to stand firm in our peaceful protest, not fall into the traps of provocations from the MAS and be calm”, continues the document, which also demands the release of those unjustly detained.
Earlier, Calvo had once again asked the president Luis Arce to pacify the country and to the Police, to be cautious with the population. He asked the citizens not to respond to the provocations.
“We don’t want deaths, we don’t want convulsions”declared the civic president before the press.
