The decision was adopted after continuous monitoring of meteorological conditions and in line with the Situation Report No. 11 of the Emergency Operations Center (COE), issued this October 25, 2025.
“We urge employers and workers to resume their activities with due caution, taking into account the recommendations of the relief agencies and maintaining the security protocols established for this type of events,” said the minister of labor, Eddy Olivaresthrough a press release.
COE remains alert and ask stay at home
Despite the lifting of the work restriction, the director of the Emergency Operations Center (COE), Juan Manuel Mendez Garciawarned that alerts remain due to the indirect effects of the Hurricane Melissa over the national territory.
Méndez reported that the opening of businesses in the provinces under red alert has been authorized to allow the population to stock up of basic products.
However, he insisted that citizens must avoid travel unnecessary, since the rains will continue to be intense during the next few hours, especially in the Greater Santo DomingoSan Pedro de Macorís, La Romana and other provinces on alert.
“Shops will be open so that the population can stock up, but we want to insist: if it is not necessary to go out, stay at home or in shelters. The millimeter of rain expected is still quite considerable“Méndez emphasized.
The COE maintains the call to the population to follow the official information and abide by the preventive measures as long as adverse weather conditions persist.

- Red alert: Peravia, San Cristóbal, Santo Domingo, National District, San José de Ocoa, San Pedro de Macorís, Independencia, San Juan, Azua, Pedernales, La Romana and Monte Plata.
- Yellow alert: La Vega, Samaná, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Bahoruco, Monseñor Nouel, Sánchez Ramírez, Montecristi, Elías Piña and La Altagracia.
- Green Alert: María Trinidad Sánchez, Santiago, Duarte, Hermanas Mirabal, Espaillat and Dajabón.
