The telephone company Tigo enabled free calls for all communities in the municipalities of San Ignacio, San Rafael, San Matías, Concepción, Guarayos, Urubichá and Roboréwhich have been severely affected by this year’s forest fires.

This option will be available from September 19 to 26 and also includes calls that the Tigo users can make calls from these towns to any other point in the country.

María Laura Mendoza, Institutional Communication and ESG Manager at Tigo, pointed out that the company’s contribution to situations such as those currently experienced, It is a direct response to the urgent need for collaboration in the fight against fires..

He said that, in these critical moments, connectivity and support with available resources can make a difference for those on the front line.

“Tigo has always been committed to helping communities that suffer from these types of adversities. During the severe flooding in Cobija in March of this yearwe also enabled free calls to support affected families, while in the 2019 fires in Roboré, we provided similar help. We reaffirm our purpose of being a positive force in Bolivia, always ready to act when we are most needed,” Mendoza stressed.
