The program is aimed at women between 20 and 45 years old who have two or more children and, even if they are unemployed, must have some work experience or technical training.
“Tripulantes” offers 70 places, and its inclusive and free education format allows participants to train virtually from any device with internet access.
The selected candidates will receive training in areas such as professional development, labour legislation, health and safety at work, office automation, basic accounting and business skills.
According to DANE data, in Colombia, more than 8 million families have a woman as head of household, a reality that highlights the importance of this type of initiatives.
Furthermore, the International Labour Organization (ILO) points out that mothers earn 6.5 percentage points less than women who do not have children, which reinforces the urgency of programs such as “Crew Workers” that seek to close this gap.
More than 400 women benefited
The entity in question informed TuBarco in Cali that 44% of the graduates have managed to start or strengthen their own business, 27% have found employment in companies allied to the foundation, and 5% have continued their academic training.
These figures show that access to vocational training not only contributes to the individual well-being of women, but also has a positive impact on the economic development of their communities.
María del Mar Jaramillo, Executive Director of the Soy Oportunidad Foundation, highlighted the organization’s commitment to the labor inclusion of women in vulnerable situations:
“We know the challenges that mothers face in entering and staying in the labor market. That is why, thanks to the support of Forvis Mazars Colombia, we can offer this cohort tools that not only improve their self-development, but also that of their families.”
Applications will be open until Sunday, September 22. Those interested can consult the requirements and register at through the foundation’s website
