The call for financial support for new economic actors was presented this Thursday during the ICT (information and communications technologies) exhibition fair associated with local development in Pinar del Río, “TecnoPinar 2025”.
Announced since November, the initiative is aimed at state and private MSMEs, non-agricultural cooperatives and local development projects, and aims to stimulate “technological solutions with the potential for impact at the local level and the ability to scale to other economic sectors.” according to report of the Cuban News Agency (ACN).
Today we participate in Tecnopinar 2025, together with the authorities of the province of Pinar del Río, to share the new call for the NAE project.

Hana Hudak, European Union cooperation officer on the Island, explained that the initiative will facilitate access to financing to the private sector, of up to 20 thousand dollars per initiative, for the acquisition of equipment and material resources.
The project “Support for new economic actors for economic, innovative and sustainable diversification” is financed by the European Union (EU) and is implemented by the United Nations Development Program, French Cooperation in Cuba, the Ministry of Economy and Planning and its National Institute of Economic Research.
Hudak said that they must be economically viable, replicable and scalable initiatives at the national level. For his part, Hervé Alonclé, head of cooperation at the French Development Agency, said that this, the fourth call of the project, seeks a sovereign, inclusive and innovative digital transition; and it becomes a way to consolidate the commitment to promoting sustainable development in the largest of the Antilles.
