The deadline for calling candidates on the waiting list for the first selection process of 2022 of the Student Financing Fund (FIES) ends at 23:59 (Brasilia time) next Thursday (26).
In total, 66,500 vacancies were offered in the first selection process of 2022 at Fies and, according to the Ministry of Education (MEC), for the entire year of 2022 there will be 110,000 vacancies. Initially, the call would be held until the 4th of May.
According to the MEC, the decision to extend the deadline for calling the Fies 2022/1 waiting list aims to promote greater occupancy of the vacancies offered by the program. In addition, in this edition, the process of filling remaining vacancies will not be carried out, which also contributed to the extension of the date.
What is Fies
Fies is a MEC program that grants funding to students in non-free higher education courses offered at educational institutions that have joined the program. To compete for one of the Fies opportunities, you must have participated in the National High School Exam (Enem) from the 2010 edition.
