Call allowed to solve conflict and give “green light” to Mercado 4 fair

Hoy Paraguay

Juan Villalba, director of Market 4, commented to Radio 1000 that initially there was an institutional position of the Asunción administration that the event not take place this Saturday and Sunday due to the claim of some unions, who pointed out that the previous fair for the 80 anniversary of Market 4 “harmed them”.

In this case, they denounced that on that occasion there were supposedly clients who could not enter their galleries due to the placement of stalls on the street, in addition to the blockade of Rodríguez de Francia avenue to vehicular traffic.

Villalba confirmed that on Friday at noon the mayor of Asunción, Óscar “Nenecho” Rodríguez, called him from abroad to ask him to finally authorize the so-called Guasu Fair, which made the conflict unblockable.

“There was a procedural error, I had never received a written request to hold a fair,” he mentioned during the interview, questioning that at no time did the permit holders formalize the request.

After resolving this impasse with the merchants, the organizers were summoned to formalize the agreement via resolution and provide them with some technical parameters so that this event, which brought together hundreds of people between Saturday and Sunday, could take place.

The entrance Call allowed to solve conflict and give “green light” to Mercado 4 fair was first published in diary TODAY.
