As of this Tuesday (4th), Ligue 180, a telephone service that guides and forwards complaints of violence against women, will be available via a WhatsApp channel.
The service will be done by the virtual attendant, called Pagu. Initially, several help options will be offered, but at any time a central attendant can be called. The central team has been composed only of women since March.
According to the Ministry of Women, assistance regarding violence against women was handled by the National Ombudsman for Human Rights, through the Dial 100. Now, with the separation of services, the ministry will be able to collect data about violence against women through of WhatsApp, to be used in the formulation of public policies.
To launch the service, the Minister of Women, Cida Gonçalves, will visit the Call Center this Tuesday, alongside the First Lady Janja Lula da Silva and the Minister of Human Rights and Citizenship, Silvio Almeida.
