Workers at the Calcar plant in Carmelo will be sent to unemployment insurance as of January 12 and for four months.
Before him Calcar company announcement to send 54 workers to unemployment insurancethe Federation of Dairy Industry Workers (FTIL) decided that it will not receive milk sent by that company at any of the industrial plants where its members work, the union reported.
The measure was taken “in a serious and urgent nature,” they indicated from the federation.
Faced with this decision, rejected by the FTIL, the workers demanded a negotiationwhich if not given, will lead to the union carrying out nationwide strikes throughout the dairy industry.
As reported by Jesús RamÃrez, a member of the Labor Association of Calcar Workers (Altrac), to Carmelo Portal, the closure of the industrial plant is not yet defined. Now, the workers hope that through the Fund for Reconversion of Dairy Industries (recently approved in Parliament) a solution can be found so as not to lose job sources.
Next Monday, January 9, the FTIL will hold an open plenary in Carmelo to discuss the situation and evaluate what measures to take.
