Thus, the “absorption” of Credinka by Caja Arequipa is completed, so that the depositors of the intervened financial institution will now become clients of the municipal bank. The entity that won the aforementioned contest will inform its new clients of the start date for their service, after completing the corresponding administrative procedures.
“Caja Arequipa will take over all of Credinka’s deposits and a good part of the credit portfolio”said Jorge Mogrovejo, deputy superintendent of Banking and Microfinance at the SBS, at a press conference.
He therefore urged users to wait a few days until the transfer can be carried out in an orderly manner. “Do not gather in the offices of Credinka or Caja Arequipa. The superintendency will be issuing communications and announcements on its social networks and website and probably also Caja Arequipa to indicate in which transition, period and in what way they can approach to verify that their deposits are in the box, where they will be able to access them as normal,” he said.
Jorge Mogrovejo said that former Credinka clients They will be able to make any withdrawals they had in the financial institution or simply continue as Caja Arequipa clients..
Regarding Credinka debtors, he stated that they must make their payments and get up to date with Caja Arequipa in order to avoid being reported to risk centers such as Infocorp.
