With just a few days to go before the Mega da Virada draw, Caixa Econômica Federal warns about the emergence of several websites fake ones that simulate the portal of Online Lotterieswhich is the only official for receiving bets. The estimated prize in the year-end draw is R$1 billion, the largest in history.
“In addition to not registering bets, forgers can steal the victim’s personal data and keep their money”, recalls Caixa.
Mega da Virada is the special Mega-Sena contest that takes place annually on the last night of the year, December 31st. Bets can be placed until 8pm (Brasília time) on the 31st at more than 13,000 lottery units across the country, via the Caixa lottery portal and app and, for Caixa customers, via internet banking.
The value of a simple bet, with six numbers, is R$6.00. The draw will be held at 10pm and will be broadcast across the country on Caixa Lotteries Facebook and in Caixa channel on Youtube.
The prize does not accumulate. If there are no winners in the main bracket, with six numbers matched, the prize will be divided between the winners in the 2nd bracket (5 numbers matched) and so on. Since its first edition, in 2009, Mega da Virada has awarded 130 bets that hit six million-dollar winners.
This year’s prize, of R$1 billion, is 57% higher than the R$635 million paid in the 2024 Mega da Virada. According to Caixa, this is due to the success in sales and two updates to the prize calculation mechanics.
“The first was the increase in the percentage of the value allocated to the accumulated collection of the Mega Sena modality from 5% to 10% in regular contests. The other was the increase in the value of the prize distribution for the first bracket, destined for bettors who match 6 tens, which increased to 90%”, he explained, in a statement.
