For beneficiaries in Rio Grande do Sul, Caixa Econômica Federal will deposit the August 2024 benefit to all beneficiaries in the state on the first day of payment, regardless of their NIS number. And beneficiaries in the state can already use the funds received.

The MDS states that beneficiaries in municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul will have a unified calendar until December of this year, due to the public calamity situation that has affected the state.

Gas Aid

In August, more than 5.64 million families will receive Gas Aid worth R$102. The investment by the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger (MDS) is R$575.59 million.

The Gas Aid was created to reduce the impact of the price of cooking gas on household budgets. The amount of the Gas Aid is paid bimonthly and corresponds to 100% of the national average price of a 13-kilo (kg) cooking gas cylinder.

Of the total number of people reached by the federal program in August, 58.2% were women. The region with the largest number of beneficiaries is the Northeast, with 2.61 million families covered, with an investment of more than R$267 million. Next comes the Southeast Region, with more than 1.87 million households and R$191 million in transfers.

In the North, there are 537,160 families, who together receive R$54.79 million. In the South, there are 398,430 families, with an investment of R$40.64 million. In the Central-West, the more than 216,800 families receive R$22.11 million in transfers.

For beneficiaries from 508 municipalities in four states in a state of emergency or public calamity recognized by the federal government, payment of the Gas Aid will also be brought forward to the first day of the payment calendar, without the need for staggering according to the NIS.

Of the 508 municipalities, 497 are in Rio Grande do Sul. The unified calendar also applies to three cities in Paraná. And due to the increased vulnerability of the Yanomami indigenous people, beneficiaries of the Gas Aid in five municipalities in Roraima and three in Amazonas can use the August installment. The list of cities is available at MDS website.

Beneficiary families will be able to consult information about installments in the Bolsa Família and Caixa Tem apps and also by calling 111.

How to withdraw

Beneficiaries can move amounts and make payments through the Caixa Tem app, without having to go to a bank branch to withdraw the benefit.

The debit card can also be used to make purchases at commercial establishments and Caixa Aqui correspondents. The funds can be transferred to lottery outlets, in addition to public bank branches.

At self-service terminals, withdrawals can be made without a card with biometric identification, with the fingerprint previously registered. The beneficiary can also make payments via Pix with the funds.

Other information about Bolsa Família payments can be found on the Caixa website.
