Caixa Econômica Federal’s disbursements for the Casa Verde Amarela program totaled R$ 19.3 billion from July to September, the bank announced this evening (14). The amount represents an increase of 20.4% compared to the previous quarter and 36.4% compared to the same period last year.
In 2022, the bank released BRL 48.3 billion to Casa Verde Amarela, serving more than 1 million people. Caixa, responsible for 99% of the credit granted for the housing program, did not report the comparison with the same period last year.
In a note, Caixa reported that the increase occurs after changes in income ranges covered by Casa Verde Amarela. The program, which served borrowers with monthly income of up to R$ 7 thousand, started to include, at the end of July, people with an income of up to R$ 8 thousand. The subsidy for families earning up to R$4,400 was increased.
The maximum term of financing increased from 30 to 35 years. According to Caixa, the longer financing term reduces the value of the installments, increasing access to Casa Verde Amarela.
The volume of credit granted to construction companies, which is applied in the construction of projects, totaled R$ 3.8 billion in the third quarter, an increase of 19.6% compared to the previous quarter and 71.7% compared to the same period. of 2021.
“The numbers reinforce Caixa’s important role in popular housing, facilitating access for low-income families to home ownership and fostering the civil construction sector,” Caixa reported in a press release.
