Caixa launches freight anticipation line for truck drivers

Chamber approves creation of MEI Truck Driver

Truck drivers will be able to anticipate the receipt of freight through a low-interest loan contracted with Caixa Econômica Federal. The bank launched today (4) the Giro Caixa Transportes line, with rates starting at 1.99% per month.

Through the credit line, the advance of the freight will be deposited directly in the account of the autonomous carriers with up to 120 days in advance. The effective rate varies depending on the borrower’s credit history.

Freights registered in the systems of the State Finance Departments may be anticipated based on the issuance of the Electronic Tax Manifesto (MDF-e), a document widely used by companies in the sector, which stores information about the cargo and those responsible for transport.

The loan amortization will be paid in a single installment, due on the same date stipulated by the carrier, in the MDF-e. Cargo transport companies interested in contracting the credit line must request the authorization of the limit at any Caixa branch, through a credit assessment. After approval of the limit, loans can be contracted digitally, by Caixa’s Financial Manager.Caixa launches freight anticipation line for truck drivers

more income

The president of CAIXA, Pedro Guimarães, participates in the CAIXA event, Democratizing Access to Credit.

Line of credit will give truck drivers more income, says Caixa’s president Fabio Rodrigues-Pozzebom/ Agencia Brasil

According to Caixa’s president, Pedro Guimarães, the new line of credit will give truck drivers more income, at a time when fuel prices are rising.

“Before, truck drivers, when they did not have receivables, took credit at 10%, 15% or 20% [de juros] per month. When they start taking from 1.99% [ao mês], this is what we call the income-effect economy. When there is this reduction, there is a very large amount that can be used to pay for diesel or truck repairs”, said Guimarães, at the credit line launch ceremony.

Also present at the ceremony, the Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio Freitas, said that the program will help to reduce shortages in the infrastructure sector and in cargo transport. “To narrow the gap [lacuna] infrastructure, investment is not enough. Two more components are fundamental: the reduction of bureaucracy, with the digitization of services, and attention to the human issue of the transport process. That is what is being announced today,” said Freitas.

The event was also attended by the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, and President Jair Bolsonaro. Guedes praised the bank’s digitalization in the operation of social policies, such as emergency aid.

Bolsonaro did not speak at the event, only participating in the signing of the launch of the credit line.
