Starting tomorrow (22), borrowers who earn up to R$ 8 thousand per month will to have access to funding from the Casa Verde and Yellow Program. Interest on the Pró-Cotista line, intended for higher-income people, was reduced.
The measures were announced today (21) by Caixa Econômica Federal. The bank made official decision of the Board of Trustees from the Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS), which had approved the changes at the beginning of the month.
Regarding income brackets, the changes were as follows:

In a note, Caixa informed that the expansion of income brackets will allow more people to have access to lower interest rates on financing with FGTS resources. Each range of the housing program has different subsidies and conditions.

Regarding the Pró-Cotista line, intended for those who do not have access to the Casa Verde e Amarela Program, the rates were reduced for those who hire until December 31th. For properties worth up to R$350,000, interest was reduced by 1 percentage point. The minimum rates changed from the Reference Rate (TR) plus 8.66% per year to TR plus 7.66% per year.
For units between R$350,000 and R$1.5 million (Finance Housing System ceiling), the rate dropped from TR plus 8.66% per year to TR plus 8.16% per year, with 0.5 percentage point of reduction. Caixa also increased the financing quota in the Pró-Cotista line to 80% of the property’s appraisal value.
