Caixa Econômica Federal announced a package of measures to support residents and businesses affected by the floods in the Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais. The actions include the anticipation of Bolsa Família and easier credit and renegotiation conditions for individuals and legal entities in cities in emergency situations.
Early Bolsa Família
In partnership with the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, the bank will release Bolsa Família payments on the first day of the program calendar for all beneficiaries in the affected municipalities.
The amount will be available from March 18th, a measure that will also be valid for April, ensuring continuity of social protection for impacted families.
Housing: pause and renegotiation
Customers with housing financing may request:
• Pause of up to six months in installments, through the Habitação Caixa app;
• Incorporation of overdue installments into the outstanding balance, with dilution in the remaining term of the contract;
• Maintenance of original interest and term conditions.
• All contracts have mandatory insurance against Physical Damage to the Property (DFI) and Death or Permanent Disability (MIP).

• Possibility of adjusting the term and reviewing interest, according to the contract.
Basket of services
• Monthly fee exemption for three months, for those who do not have another active benefit.
Conditions for companies
Financing and working capital:
• Pause of up to three months in investment, working capital and microcredit contracts.
Easy Girocaixa:
• Up to 30 months for amortization;
• Term can reach 60 months, according to guarantee.
Machines and equipment:
• Up to six months grace period;
• Up to 60 months for payment.
CDB Flex or Progressive for micro and small businesses (MSE):
• Flexibility for rescuing applications, if there are no blocks.
Rural credit
Individual (rural producer):
• Extension of maturities in case of crop failure;
• Possibility of new contracts even with active extensions.
Legal entity (rural producer):
• Affected cooperatives and agribusinesses can request extensions and extensions of time, subject to proof.
Measures for hospitals
Santas Casas and philanthropic or non-philanthropic hospitals may request:
• Pause of up to 12 months in installments;
• Incorporation of installments at the end of the contract or interest-only payment, depending on the modality.
