Gymnast Caio Souza wins bronze at the World Cup in Croatia

Caio Souza returned to the Brazilian spotlight this Sunday (12) at the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Osijek, Croatia. He won three medals: silver on the table vault and rings and bronze on the pull-up bar.

The jump achievement came with an average of 14,616 after he scored 14,600 and 14,633 in both attempts. The gold went to the Ukrainian Igor Radivilov, with 14,866, and the bronze to the Turkish Adem Asil, with 14,483.

In the rings test, Caio obtained a score of 14,733 (8,533 in execution and 6.2 in difficulty). Only the Turkish Adem Asil, with 14,900, was ahead of the Brazilian. Azerbaijani Nikita Simonov closed the podium with a score of 14,633.

In the pull-up bar, there were two Brazilians on the podium. Lucas Bitencourt and Caio Souza won the same score, 14,266. But, as Bitencourt’s performance score was higher (8,566 against 7,966), he won silver and Caio won bronze. Croatian Tin Srbic was the best with 14,300.

This Saturday (11), Caio Souza had already gone to the podium in the pommel horse competition, winning the bronze medal.
