At the Palacio San Martín, Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero received representatives of more than 30 Argentine companies that last week participated in the Trade Mission of the Oil and Gas Sector in Brazil, within the framework of the Rio Oil & Gas Fair, with the idea of boost exports to the neighboring country.

Brazil is the main commercial destination of Argentina, a country to which US$ 8,147 million were exported in the first eight months of 2022, which represented a year-on-year increase of 15%, and of which more than 57% were made up of manufactured goods of origin. industrial.

“We need to continue advancing in our exports. We have eight very good, very powerful months of record growth in exports and we want that growth to continue. For that, the 2022 Export Promotion Plan is being fulfilled with different missions and business plans,” Cafiero told the businessmen.

The Argentine ambassador to Brazil, Daniel Scioli, and the Secretary of International Economic Relations, Cecilia Todesca Bocco, also participated in the meeting, who were part of the first training day to strengthen insertion strategies in the Brazilian market, aimed at Argentine SMEs.

“We think that the Foreign Ministry, the embassies and the entire structure that the State has when it comes to linking with the outside world has to have a mentality of providing companies, SMEs, with all the possible tools so that you can achieve that these such virtuous exporting circuits that the country needs”remarked the Argentine foreign minister.

The training took place within the framework of the plan “SMEs to the World: Export to Brazil”which seeks to help national companies to increase their exports, with information on existing opportunities and challenges in the export process.

There were presentations by experts in the Brazilian market and successful cases of Argentine SMEs from sectors considered to have great potential, such as food, wine, auto parts, dairy, agro-parts, oil and gas, among other sectors, and had the virtual presence of more than 165 SMEs.

According to Indec data, Argentine exports of the oil and gas complex reached US$ 4,306 million in 2021, with a year-on-year growth of 37.6%, grouping 5.5% of total Argentine sales to the world.

Within the inputs of oil and gas production, Argentina stands out particularly in the segment of seamless tubes.
