After the closing of the summit of CELAC ministers this Thursday at the Palacio San Martín, Cafiero continued this Friday with bilateral work meetings with his peers from those countries, with whom he “analyzed the scope and challenges of the bi-regional mechanism” and “the outstanding issues and of common interest with each of these countries,” according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting with the Bolivian foreign minister, Roger MaytaCafiero expressed “the importance of strengthening binational energy integration”, with the aim of “improving electricity supply, reducing costs and favoring supply to the populations”.

“Both highlighted the conclusion of the first section of the electrical work that will provide electricity to northwestern Argentina, and expressed their interest so that the process can be completed soon and the work is inaugurated,” added the statement on the topics of the meeting between both of them.

For his part, Cafiero told the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, that Argentina is “interested in increasing and diversifying trade, promoting reciprocal investments and articulating joint work between governments and the private sector.”

Regarding the audience with the Latvian Foreign Minister, Edgars Rinkēvičs, Cafiero stated that progress must be made with the agendas and agreements reached last year in Riga, the capital of that European country.

“Although reciprocal trade has grown progressively, our country encourages its diversification, incorporating products with greater added value and technological development,” explained the text from Palacio San Martín.
