CADE 2025: Rafael López Aliaga proposes withdrawal from the Court of Rights "Inhuman"

The presidential candidate of Renovación Popular, Rafael Lopez Aliagaarrived at CADE 2025 this Thursday morning.

In exclusive statements for Peru21 The former mayor of Lima assured that he has “45 years of experience in the public and private sectors.” In that sense, he assured that he will present an agenda to “renew the country.”

“We are going to give a series of proposals for our government plan for the first 100 days,” he emphasized.

When asked what he thinks of the other candidates who decided not to attend the event -Keiko Fujimori, Carlos Álvarez, Mario Vizcarra and César Acuña-, the leader of Renovación Popular assured that he prefers not to comment on the matter.

The former mayor and the Ahora Nación candidate, Alfonso López Chau, will be the only candidates attending the event.

Total reform of the PJ and Public Ministry

The candidate announced that he will propose the “total reform” of the Judiciary and the Public Ministry “based on criteria of meritocracy.” To this end, he pointed out that the meritocracy model that the Central Reserve Bank has will be applied.

The mayor pointed out that in his eventual government an “investment of more than a billion dollars will be made for police and military investment” to obtain cameras, drones and “legal sucking.” Likewise, he announced that Peru will proceed to “immediately withdraw from the Court of Inhuman Rights, where only the defenders of terrucos and hitmen win.”

During his presentation, López Aliaga proposed suing Brookfield before ICSID for at least $3 billion “for purchasing Odebrecht shares in a corruptly obtained concession.”

The businessman also proposed that highly dangerous criminals be sent to “Sepa model” prisons, in “uncontacted areas, without internet.” “The domes of the Aragua Train and other nits” would go to these prisons.

The former mayor noted that “shackles for unregistered foreigners” will be implemented. “Not putting them in jail, but knowing where they are 24 hours a day,” he said. In addition, he indicated that a treaty will be sought with the United States to achieve “intervention and extradition of military objectives.”

López Aliaga accused the managers of cell phone companies who do not deregister stolen mobile equipment and allow the sale of chips without control as “accomplices.” Given this, he assured that in his eventual administration they will be sanctioned.

Likewise, he indicated that the “total elimination of illegal mining, which entails sexual exploitation and ecological destruction,” must be achieved.

On the other hand, he announced that he will implement a “voluntary military police service”, which works by incentives and is “attractive like in the United States”, with a minimum salary and a 18 scholarship.

Political reform

The pre-candidate assured that in his eventual government a referendum or question of confidence will be held so that Congress returns to being unicameral as it is currently. In addition, he proposed that the salary of each congressman be the average of what his salary was in the last five years.

Likewise, he referred to Keiko Fujimori and assured that the congressman’s work cannot be a “consolation prize.”

On the other hand, López Aliaga indicated that he will seek to “reduce the State” and buy retirement incentives.
