The president of IPAE Acción Empresarial, Gonzalo Galdos, closed the 2025 edition of CADE Executives with a message focused on the need to strengthen justice and institutions as essential conditions for the development of Peru.
“We have agreed that there is no development without growth, nor growth without political institutions. Economy and politics are not separate worlds,” he said.
During his speech, Galdos stressed that the country faces a pre-electoral year in which Peruvians must look “in the mirror with courage, without complacency,” to regain confidence in the institutions and their capacity for progress. He recalled that Peru “has everything to move forward: resources, talent, determination and businessmen who do not give up.”
The president of IPAE warned that neutrality in times of crisis can become complicity by omission, and called on all citizens to assume their active role in building a fairer country.
“Generating wealth is not an end in itself. It is the means to create employment, provide health and education. We must be proud of paying taxes, resisting and continuing to invest in Peru,” he emphasized.
Galdos also highlighted the structural gaps that persist in the health and education systems, and raised the urgency of building a State at the service of the citizen. Along these lines, he announced that IPAE will deliver to the Government a set of specific proposals arising from the forum, focused precisely on these two sectors.
“These commitments must be translated into results. Not only in public policies, but in State policies that improve institutions,” he stressed.
The head of IPAE also highlighted the participation of young people in the forum, who followed the sessions from universities across the country through live broadcasts. “Their enthusiasm forces us to listen to them. They are part of the change we want to build,” he said.
Finally, Galdos reaffirmed the private sector’s conviction to continue investing and generating opportunities, even in the midst of uncertainty.
“The private engine is the engine of development and guardian of a management model. We are called to invest without running away from problems, with conviction and hope. Today more than ever we must believe that the country will respond,” he concluded.
