Cabinet Council authorizes public call to seek replacement of José Ayú Prado in the CSJ

The Cabinet Council, headed by President Laurentino Cortizo, authorized the Minister of the Presidency, José Gabriel Carrizo, as secretary, to make a public call to fill the vacant positions of magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice in the Second Chamber Criminal and its respective substitute.

For this purpose, an official statement indicates, the council of ministers approved the draft Cabinet Resolution 46-22, which authorizes Carrizo to carry out the public call for said vacancies as of December 31, 2022.

Carrizo explained to the council of ministers that on December 31 there will be a vacancy for the position of main magistrate and another for substitute magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice in the Second Criminal Chamber due to the expiration of the constitutional period of those appointed.

The Minister of the Presidency will communicate with the Attorney of the Administration for the start of the respective process.

Carrizo presented this Cabinet project for the consideration of the ministers, in compliance with the exercise of the power conferred by Law 15 of 1958, which attributes functions to the Ministry of the Presidency of communication and coordination of the Executive Branch.
