At a press conference, Guido Manini Ríos, the senator and leader of Cabildo Abierto, confirmed that his party “will not support” the bill on euthanasia and considered that approving it would contribute to the “culture of waste”.
“We believe that it introduces a culture of waste that has a purely economic background and that it is very serious that a price is put on human life, that it is established who has the right to live and who does not according to the expense they generate for society,” said Manini Ríos.
Along the same lines, he points out: “It seems to me that we are entering a path of decline as a society. We have to be aware that there are things that go far beyond what the project mentions, which is something that will continue to develop, as has occurred in countries where euthanasia has been legalized.
It ends with truly incredible situations that we do not want to experience in our country.
We are very clear that we are not going to support the project.”
