The Chamber of Deputies approved extending for one month the discussion in the special commission that studies and works on the social security reform project.
The extension was approved with 53 votes out of 97 present, with the support of legislators from Cabildo Abierto, Frente Amplio and Peri.
In this way, the commission will be able to work until April 30, despite the fact that the National Party wanted to approve the reform in commission this Friday, March 31, when the initial term expired.
President Luis Lacalle Pou had set a deadline for the approval of the law when he asked the white legislators that the pension reform be approved “before the first cyclist leaves.”
