Cabello: We seized 700 rifle magazines that would be used in plans of violence

More than 700 rifle magazines, ammunition and five rifles that would be used by groups linked to the Venezuelan opposition to perpetrate acts of violence in the country were seized in recent days by State security agencies, reported the sectoral vice president of Politics, Security Citizen and Peace, Diosdado Cabello.

In a press conference held this Monday, he pointed out that the aforementioned shippers entered the country hidden in furniture, but thanks to the work of the security forces they were detected at the end of 2024.

“All these investigations are advancing. We know who sent them, how they sent them, where they sent them from, who receives them. Due to these events we have a group of detainees who are part of this fascist opposition that does not believe in the country,” he highlighted.

In this sense, during the aforementioned statements, he pointed out that more than 120 mercenaries from different nationalities have been arrested for their connection with these far-right terrorist plans.

“They (the mercenaries) have been speaking, declaring, pointing out the plans they have, establishing where the financing comes from, which comes from drug trafficking and Colombian drug paramilitarism,” he indicated while highlighting the connection of former Colombian presidents Álvaro Uribe and Ivan Duque with these facts.

Plans to assault power

Likewise, Cabello pointed out that the far-right leader María Corina Machado is the recipient of the resources that are sent to the country from drug trafficking to finance destabilization actions.

“These people do not have an electoral plan, they have a plan to rise to power, they do not believe in elections,” he highlighted. Likewise, he indicated that these actions are carried out by the extreme right because they do not conceive that the people can have power and live in an authentic democracy.

“It is planned violence, as always, under the same script. This violence includes terrorist acts, sabotage of public services. These have been declared by the mercenaries who have been detained and have spoken about the tasks they came for. They have no values or scruples, that is why they have attacked health centers, that is why they have been able to attack educational centers, transportation systems, electrical systems,” he emphasized.

Plans for January 10

On the other hand, Cabello recalled that on January 10, the President of the Republic will be sworn in before the National Assembly for the period 2026-2031.

In this sense, he pointed out that in the country there is a large deployment of security forces in order to guarantee the protection and peace of the people.

“The fascist, terrorist right is very nervous about a deployment of the police force that is normal. Presidents from other countries, representatives from more than 100 countries, are going to come to Venezuela to accompany President Nicolás Maduro and we have to guarantee the peace and security of these international guests and of Venezuelans throughout the national territory,” he indicated. .
