The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, said that the only thing that Nicolás Maduro’s government can negotiate with the opposition sector led by María Corina Machado is for the “terrorists” to surrender.

“Fascism uses methods of any kind against our people: terrorism, violence, manipulation,” he noted. At the same time, he stated that “the revolutionary forces always have to be at the forefront of the battle, not put us on the defensive or corner us.”
On the other hand, he dismissed comments about an alleged division in the National Armed Forces (FAN). «The president announced changes in the FAN and gave the nod to a few people because Nicolás did not consult them. ‘The paraquita’ said that she, who knows the most about the military institution, was not consulted, while others here and there say that ‘now they are divided.'”
