The sectoral vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, expressed this Monday that in Venezuela, 200 years after the battle of Ayacucho, “we are fighting one of the greatest battles that any people has ever fought.”
The also Minister for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace spoke during the floral offering to the Liberator Simón Bolívar held at the National Pantheon of Caracas within the framework of the bicentennial.
Cabello highlighted the excellent relationship between Simón Bolívar and Antonio José de Sucre, as well as their fight for the independence of the country.
“Today, 200 years later, your sons and daughters, we are fighting one of the greatest battles that any people has ever fought. It is unfair to try to diminish the independence struggles of 200 years ago, they faced the Spanish empire, the most powerful empire of that time, barbarians, genocidal, terrible murderers,” he declared.
